Engine lubrication System How does it’s work

Internal combustion engine parts overheat, requiring lubrication to reduce friction and remove heat. System delivers lubricants to various parts, including fact with pressure, gravity, and splash feeds.

The engine lubricating cycle involves filling the engine with motor oil, draining it into the oil sump, and picking up the oil in an oil strainer. The pump, operated by a change drive, Frozen oil and creates pressure at the outlet.

How Oil Pump Work

Gear Pumps
Gear pumps can function as oil pumps, featuring internal and external gear mashing, crescent partition, generator pump, oil crescent partition, and variable dischargeable oil pump options. Oil is cleaned by an oil filter, passing through the gallery and cylinder, and if the filter becomes worn out, the oil bypasses the bypass valve.

The Filter Outlet

The filter outlet features an oil pressuring sensor, which lubricates the crank shaft main journals and connecting rod bearings. The oil is pushed out in the connecting rod bearings, lubricating the cylinder wall, pistons, and timing drive. This generates an oil mist in the crank case, which runs out in the oil sump and returns to the oil sump, starting the cycle again.
The system should have at least one oil pressure sensor, which can be placed in various parts, including downstream of the filter and the oil gallery. Complex systems may include oil temperature, oil level sensors, air/water cooled radiators, and various coupling schemes for lubrication and cooling of pistons and piston tanks.

Lubrication

Lubrication is essential for optional systems like turbochargers and hydraulic lash adjusters. Oil control rims and valve stem seals prevent oil access in combustion chambers, while gadgets and oil seals between stationary parts prevent oil from exceeding the engine.
